ISRS Welcomes the Brazilian Radiosurgery Society (SBRC)
July 06, 2018
We are proud to announce that members of the Brazilian Radiosurgery Society (SBRC) members have now joined the ISRS as affiliated members.
The Brazilian Radiosurgery Society was funded in June 2007. The purposes of the Society are to integrate the neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists and medical physicists; spread knowledge and interest among residents and specialists; assure proper codification/ billing of the procedure for all specialties involved in patient care among healthcare providers.
The practice of Radiosurgery in our country is challenging. Some of the goals are still a work in progress. The present moment of the Brazilian Radiosurgery Society is unique since the Society has evolved to formal memberships, bimensal webinars cycle, new billing codes for the procedure and the affiliation to the International Radiosurgery Society (ISRS). The interaction with the ISRS and other local radiosurgery societies is very promising and will foster interest and quality on radiosurgery practice and research in Brazil. The affiliation to ISRS achieves a milestone in the SBRC history by bringing benefits to the members of exquisite academic and scientific level, directly applicable to member’s daily activities.
We are also very proud to host the 14th International ISRS congress in Rio de Janeiro in 2019. This will be the first International Radiosurgery Congress of International Societies hosted in Latin America. It is definitely a keen momentum for the Brazilian Radiosurgery Society development!
